Hey Marco, I'm trying to expand my guitar playing into some new genres, and I love that rock/fusion/jazz kind of playing thats all over the ALex Argento Ego cd, but I really have no idea where to start learning that style. How did you get into that playing style, and do you have any recommendations on what to listen to or some places where i can get some ideas on that kind of playing? Thanks man! -Chris

Hi Chris,
when it was time to record for Alex I didn't had any clue about fusion (and to be honest still today I'm not into fusion that much). Hopefully all the harmonic structures were already written down, my duty was to learn the chords and see what I could have played when it was time to lay down the leads. What I did was to follow the chords and try to sound as much convincing as possible knowing my limits and possibilities. If I should suggest you some listenings I would say to start from the scratch, I mean jazz standards and so on (all the best fusion players admit that is essencial to know the basic jazz vocabulary). Hope this helps! Marco
