Default Rash guitars question

Hi Marco,

I noticed on the Rash guitars website that your guitars use poplar wood for the 6 string and linden wood for the 7 string.

As far as I understand, linden is the same as basswood, which is the same wood that is used for the MusicMan guitars. I absolutely love the tone that I get from my MusicMan, plus the fact that basswood is light weight, which makes it very comfortable.

Do you notice a big difference in guitar tone with the poplar wood? Also, what tone qualities drew you to using poplar?

Thanks.

Hi,
that information was from the old ashes of the first batch of guitars he ever made me. By the way there are a couple of "translation" issues, hahahaha. The 7 strings and the 6 strings with Floyd are actually basswood, not linden. I like basswood for his balanced response on both treble and low frequencies, especially with high output pickups. Then I have my main 6 strings guitar, the one I use the most so to speak, which has a mahogany body, birdseye maple neck and 22 frets ebony fingerboard. I love this one 'cause it sounds soo good, the balance between mahogany body and Cruiser pickups just works for me better than anything else at the moment

That's one thing I love about my Ibanez guitars is the mahogany body adds a lot more low end and depth to my tone. The Cruiser is a hot pickup and a nice choice. I can imagine it adds more clarity to the neck position without getting too muddy. The newer guitars that have a mahogany body with a flamed or quilted maple tops are a nice combination too. The maple definately brightens the tone up.

Thanks Marco!!!

Hey

Marco i am realy looking forward to your new cd.

I am wondering if you use the dimarzio Cruiser DP 186 or 187 ( bridge version ) in the middle and neck?

Thanks in advance
