From Naples to the world's stages.
Marco Sfogli grew up on the road: from 1984 he travelled with his musician parents, and he got his first electric guitar in 1989. Between 1992 and 1996 he studied drums, which he credits for his rhythmic sense. Dream Theater's Images and Words brought him back to the guitar for good.
Since 2005 he has been the guitarist in the solo project of Dream Theater singer James LaBrie, playing on every album released since Elements of Persuasion. On 30 March 2015 PFM – Premiata Forneria Marconi announced him as their new guitarist, replacing Franco Mussida. He debuted at Rome's Concerto del Primo Maggio and has since recorded and toured with the band in Italy, Europe, Japan and the Americas, most recently on the Doppia traccia tour in summer 2025.
He is part of the original IceFish line-up with Virgil Donati, Alex Argento and Andrea Casali. As a session player he has recorded for Jordan Rudess, Virgil Donati, Adam Nitti and Richard Henshall, and he has released four albums under his own name.
